CHILDREN'S POSTER DESIGN COMPETITION
ANOTHER WAY THEATRE LTD announce a competition for children, offering the opportunity to design the poster image for their summer production of THE RABBIT KING which will be performed at THE CATERHAM and PURLEY FESTIVALS in June 2013 in association with The ARC Arts Centre in Caterham.
The story of The Rabbit King is based on a traditional tale of a rabbit, using his brains to outwit a scary lion. With songs, dance and professional actors, this production promises to be a summer treat for local children. They will even have the opportunity to join in the fun with face painting, dressing up as their favourite jungle character and helping to design the set.
Children can use the title as inspiration for their poster design or use any number of images listed below as a brief:
A clever rabbit
An angry lion
A giant carrot that cannot be pulled from the ground
A mean witch whose broomstick snaps in two
A stone lioness who comes back to life
A pond in the forest that speaks back
A wise old snake
Owls in a tree that sing in harmony
A rabbit king – who is loved by all
Scan in your child’s drawing and send the jpeg (not more than 1MB) to[email protected] attaching the name of the artist and an adult contact number.
The winner will be selected by Jill ‘Wiggy’ Wilson, a professional designer who lives locally. First place will receive free family tickets to The Rabbit King, a special prize and be named in the programme as the poster designer.
The deadline for entries is April 21st.
