“At the heart of the production’s quality lay its refusal to accept the obvious”

HAMLET at The MINACK
Breathtaking!!!
We booked coach transport from Penzance at the same time that we ordered the theatre tickets for Hamlet.. On arrival, we bought the vegan curry from the food van in the car park and it was delicious! We had taken cushions and blankets but you can hire bucket seats which are recommended to give added back support. The performance of Hamlet by "Another Way Theatre" was excellent - the audience were transfixed, but prior to the play, we were all delighted when a pod of dolphins made their way across the bay to provide the warm up act.which went on for 10 minutes. A wonderful experience; friendly staff in an incredible setting. Very very special.

Hamlet by the sea!
Amazing location for an outdoor theatre. The views are spectacular and we were SO lucky to be able to watch a massive pod of dolphins cross the bay beside us while we waited for the evening performance. Bring blankets hot drinks (and a cushion to sit on if you can) - the seats are carved into the rock and a three hour performance might prove uncomfortable otherwise. Hamlet was great - not a Shakespeare devotee but it was wonderful to watch. Great night for the money (think we paid a tenner a ticket).
We had a barbecue on the beach down from the theatre beforehand - the most stunning beach I’ve seen in Cornwall so far, well worth all those steps down! Casey D
Simply Brilliant
Although we had visit the Minack many times before, I had wanted to go and see a play there for as long as could remember, and last Friday we finally went... it was worth the wait.
What a location, what a view and what a beautiful evening.
We saw Hamlet which was so good - a great cast and very well acted.
I cannot recommend enough for you to go and see a play - it is an unforgettable experience.
We are definitely coming back. NMJUL
THE SEAGULL at The MINACK
"This is a seagull that has truly found its freedom in the 21st century."
"PURISTS have argued for decades over the translation of Chekhov's tragic play, but director Chris Chambers has set this Seagull free of all that, with an amusing and sometimes cheeky 21st century adaptation that does it no harm in its Cornish seaside setting." The Cornishman
We saw ‘The Seagull’ at an open-air production in Caterham in the Spring as part of the 7th Annual Caterham Festival and had a thoroughly enjoyable and entertaining evening. The sets were very attractive and the play was well cast we thought. Not having seen this play before we were not sure what to expect and found this production most compelling and amusing, being set in a more modern period and by the sea in Cornwall. The story evolved with comedy and pathos and the balance was perfect and kept the audience engaged with each character as the tale of unrequited love, passions and ambitions unfolded. Chekov’s ‘Seagull’ was written over 100 years ago but Another Way showed that the challenges the characters faced in the original story are still relevant today. We would certainly look forward to supporting Another Way Theatre in the future and wish them well for the rest of 2015. (M. Shone - Coulsdon resident)
Is this not the most beautiful setting in the world for an open air theatre !!. The Seagull theatre production was excellent and all the time against a breathtaking setting. The staff at the Minack were friendly and very organised making it one of the nicest events I've ever attended. Oh and just when you thought it couldn't get any better. A beautiful FULL moon rose above the set making myself and visitors from all over the world gasp !! Spectacular !!
Thanks to everyone involved! (Trip Adviser Reviewer)
GULLIVER'S TRAVELS (London Showcase)
And the wash of sound created under the musical direction of composer Andy Rapps at the
piano, with judicious linking narration provided by his writing partner Chris Chambers who has written book, lyrics and additional music, was frequently inspiring, too. It’s a show I’d be keen to see more of – and that’s precisely the point of a showcase. It is intended to whet the appetite – especially of potential producers and investors. (Mark Shenton, The Stage)
A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM (Site Specific)
Mark and I took our 7 year old daughter Trinity to see Saturday's Matinee performance of A Midsummer Night's Dream in Queens Park Swings. We weren't sure what to expect as the whole production seemed to defy description. Arriving at the Swing Park, there was a palpable air of excitement and expectation. We weren't disappointed.
From the moment the huge motorbikes roared into the park, even with the swing park background noises, children laughing and yelling and dogs barking, the enchantment of theatre took over and you were magically transported to Fairyland and the tale of the marriage, the Lovers, the Players and the Fairies. The children from the audience could get involved too, wearing gossamer wings, with their faces painted becoming Fairies much to their parents delight!
A beautifully light production with incredibly brave actors who faced the elements without flinching or letting it impede their performance. How lucky are we here in Caterham having this type of event locally as part of The Caterham Festival. Well done to all involved. Can't wait for the next production.....!

We recently attended Queen's Park, Caterham, for the production of Midsummer Night's Dream. We came on Thursday 21st June when the rain and wind howled around us and the audience was extremely cold and very wet. However, the cast were true professionals and the show continued with gusto. We really enjoyed the experience and thought it a wonderful and entertaining production. Well done to everyone who took part. Congratulations. (Gwen & Peter Hoare)

ANOTHER WAY CABARET
Chris played piano and sang at our Christmas party. He was fantastic and set the perfect mood for the evening. As a games company we were also interested in having some game themes played on the piano and this was no problem at all. (Managing Director of IGN)
